We at the FWA are sad to report the passing of Hugh McIlvanney, one of the greatest sportswriters of the past fifty years and a much-loved colleague.Hughie passed away on Thursday, aged 84, after a battle with cancer, but he left behind a legacy of prize-winning sportswriting and a reputation as one of the true greats.
